After giving my Smiths ticket away for the gig in Dundee 35 years ago, it has always been something that stays with me, but to now get the opportunity to photography the man himself kind of makes up for that lose…well, a wee bit.
Arriving at the gig it was disappointing to hear that there was no support band. Instead, the crowd got a half hour of Morrisseys favourite band that futured the likes of The Sex Pistols, Ramones and New York Dolls and t.A.T.u. who are a Russian lesbian band singing the Smiths classic ‘How Soon Is Now’.
With a 22 song set list which lasted for two hour Morrissey took to the stage at 9pm. He played a couple of Smith classic ‘How Soon Is Now and ‘I Started Something I couldn’t Finish’ but soon moved on to his album ‘Low In High School’ playing tracks like ‘The Girl From Tel Aviv’ and ‘Israel’.
At the end of his long set Morrissey left the fans happy with an encore of ‘Every day Is Like Sunday, Irish Blood and English Heart.
