P&J Live Aberdeen
14th Nov 2019
Tonight, I am heading to the new P&J Arena in Aberdeen to photography the Liam Gallagher gig. The new venue opened at a cost of £333 million and can host crowds of up to 12,500 and 15,000 so it will be interesting to see how the new place looks compared to the old tired looking AECC in Bridge of Don.
First up to get the night going was indie singer Dylan John Thomas who did a great version of the Johnny Cash’s classic ‘Ring of Fire’, and then the well-known Australian band DMA’s followed with tunes from their albums ‘Hills End’ and ‘For Now’.
With 10,000 fans inside the Arena, It was the former Oasis front man who delighted the fans as he walked on stage with his trademark swagger as he got the night going with Rock and Roll Star.
Liam made a wee dig at his brother Noel over a confrontation with Lewis Capaldi about comments he made about Scotland which got a big cheer from the fans.
It was also a surprise to see original Oasis member Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs onstage which also got a good Scottish welcome from the crowd.
Fans favourites like Stand By Me, Champagne Supernova, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic along with Liam’s own solo material such as Shockwaves, Halo and Once gave the fans a night they wouldn’t forget in a hurry.
