The Manic Street Preachers return to live music for the first time in two years and back with their first album in three years called The Ultra Vivid Lament.
The Welsh rockers played to a packed-out crowd at Fat Sam’s in Dundee. The gig was originally set to be played at the Caird Hall but was changed due to the hall being used as a Coronavirus Centre.
The downsizing of the gig didn’t disappoint the fans as the band kicked off their 21 set with Motorcycle Emptiness and finishing with Design 4 Life.
“Two whole years of not going out, and you’re here to have a shitty pint in a plastic cup and watch a shitty band playing,” noted Manic Street Preachers’ James Dean Bradfield with a self-deprecating growl. “We’re back!”
