Texas

Caird Hall Dundee

7th Feb 2022

Formed back in the 1980’s Texas took to the stage at the Caird Hall to mark the bands 30th anniversary of the album Southside.

The anniversary tour had been postponed due to the pandemic but on a cold February night it was time for the band to celebrate.

It was a surprise to see that there was no support band for the night but as the lights went down, Sharleen and the band took to the stage to announce in her broad Glaswegian accent “We can’t afford a support band so we will be doing an acoustic set”. This brought a big cheer from the audience inside the hall.

With Johnny McElhone on bass, Cat Myers on drums Tony McGovern playing guitar and Eddie Campbell on Keys and Sharleen stunning voice got the set off with fans favourites, ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’, ‘Tell Me Why’, and ‘Everyday Now’ to celebrate the Southside album.

After a short break and set change the band got back to entertaining the fans with the Hi and Hits set list. They played some of the classics like, ‘In Our Lifetime’, ‘Summer Son’ and ‘Say What You Want’ then followed it with a three-song encore ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’, ‘Black Eyed Boy’ and ‘Suspicious Minds’ to send the fans home happy on a cold night.
