The Lathums

Fat Sam’s Dundee

4th Dec 2021

It’s third time lucky for the Lathums fans as they finally get to see the indie four piece take to the stage at Fat Sam’s in Dundee.

The band has previously had to cancel their planned gigs in Dundee due to Covid but the long wait was worth it.

Formed at music college in Wigan in 2019, this four-piece band represent the latest round of indie guitar revivalism with a No 1 album under their belt with How Beautiful Life Can Be

As Parliamo warmed up the crowd before the main event, fans seem to forget about any pandemic which left them without live music for nearly two years.

When The Lathums took to the stage at Fat Sam’s, they opened with Villainous Victorian, Fight On, Foolish Parley.

Halfway through the gig, guitarist Scott Concepcion, bassist Johnny Cunliffe and drummer Ryan Durrans departed the stage, leaving frontman Alex Moore to perform their more contemplative tracks. On the album title track How Beautiful Life Can Be, he sings about bumblebee buzzes and forgotten toast.

How Beautiful Life Can Be…have music back in our lives.
